The Ncase M1 has been a favorite among small form factor enthusiasts for years now, which has been plenty of time for the community to find the coolest and quietest builds possible. Here is, in my opinion, the best setup you can use in such a great case.
These are the three main ingredients that make an Ncase M1 build nearly matching the performance of liquid cooling. Just the fact that it can be so cool, quiet, and powerful makes this one of my favorite configurations.
SFX Power Supply
- Using an sfx psu will not only make cables a little easier to route, it will also give the case a little more space to breathe. If you really don't care about the 1-2 degree difference however, you can use the space for extra storage drives.Noctua NH-U9S
- The U9S is the largest, coolest, and quietest Noctua cooler that can fit into the Ncase. It should be configured as intake (pulling cool air in from the back of the case) so that it can work well with the gpu. Additionally, it is highly recommended to buy an additional Noctua NF-A9 92mm fan to attach to the heatsink.Arctic Accelero III
- This requires a little DIY, but is well worth it in the end. The Accelero III is an aftermarket gpu heatsink that provides better heat dissipation rating than the stock configuration. Once it is installed on the gpu, add two 120mm fans (preferably Noctua NF-A12 fans for best performance) to the bottom of the case that exhaust air out. These will act as the fans for the gpu and also give the case a slightly negative air pressure. The video below from OptimumTech showcases the Artic Accelero III very well. These are the three main ingredients that make an Ncase M1 build nearly matching the performance of liquid cooling.
